Maresme is the stretch of coast that runs north from Barcelona, and it's become one of the most sought-after places to buy on the Catalan coast. But it isn't one market — it's a string of towns that each behave differently, and buying in the wrong one for your life is an expensive mistake. Here's how we actually break it down for buyers.

The two coasts, and why they cost different amounts

Maresme splits into two rough bands. The lower coast — El Masnou, the Alella side, Teià, Premià de Mar — is the commute belt, within half an hour of the city.
